Our Mission
The purpose of the Student American Academy of Osteopathy (SAAO) is to preserve and further develop the use of osteopathic principles and practices in osteopathic medical students. The objectives of the SAAO are for its members to:
- Be inspired by the spirit of osteopathy
- Acquire a better understanding of osteopathic principles and practices
- To foster in themselves and others, a clear concept of the clinical application of osteopathic principles and practices in health and disease

Dues: $10 Annually; $50 National Membership (one time fee)
Services Provided
SAAO offers tutoring in OMM to first-year students. We will also be hosting OMM exam review sessions to prepare the first-year students for their midterms and finals.
Tentative Schedule for 2026-2027
Fall
- OMT for stress - Invite physicians to share their practice of OMM with students.
- Ultrasound Event- invite physicians for an ultrasound demonstration.
- Mock Practical - Practice OMM final for OMS-I in Dublin
Spring
- Dublin Heritage Med Gala - with Family Medicine Club (Funding via Fundraiser)
- AAO Convocation - Support travel and participation of students in this conference (Funding via travel stipend and AAO-specific stipend)
- Mock Practical - Practice OMM final for OMS-I in Dublin
