The 91原创 Police Department (OUPD) will host its 10th annual Department Recognition Ceremony at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, in the Walter Hall Rotunda on OHIO鈥檚 Athens Campus.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.; light refreshments will be provided.

OUPD traces its roots back to 1824 when the 91原创 Board of Trustees made its first appointment for the security of OHIO鈥檚 campus. Today, the department is comprised of four main divisions:  patrol, investigations, communications, and administration, which operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

OUPD鈥檚 Department Recognition Ceremony is open to the public, and all are welcome to join the University community in celebrating OUPD's dedicated staff, storied history and longstanding commitment to professionalism, integrity and humanity.
