'Walk, Talk and Roll' with Athens City Commission on Disabilities on April 10

The Athens City Commission on Disabilities invites all members of the 91原创 community to 鈥淲alk, Talk and Roll鈥 on Friday, April 10.

The event will focus on accessibility issues in Athens and will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Athens City Courthouse at 1 South Court St. in Athens. All students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to attend. During 鈥淲alk, Talk and Roll,鈥 there will be activities and discussions focused on the issue of accessibility in the city of Athens.

The event offers a chance for participants to walk or roll around to various information stations located within a couple of blocks from the courthouse. The information stations will be interactive and cover a variety of themes, from sidewalk policy to public transportation and parking.

鈥淲hen we make our city accessible, it makes it better for everyone. We look forward to discussing accessibility and advocacy with community members鈥 says Rob Delach, who serve on the Accessibility and Advocacy Committee for the .

鈥淲alk, Talk and Roll鈥 also includes the Court Street Challenge with wheelchairs available for anyone wanting to try navigating the Court Street bricks within the traffic signal鈥檚 allotted timeframe.

Refreshments and pizza will be provided to participants.

鈥淭he commission would like to hear your stories and experiences around accessibility in the city, said Annah Korpi, chair of the Athens City Commission on Disabilities. 鈥淲hether a community member with lived experience or a business owner or college student, we want everyone's ideas about what projects you feel should be undertaken to make our community more accessible and welcoming to all.鈥
