How to Guide 002: Creating and Submitting Protocols in Cayuse
Protocol Actions
You can select the 鈥淧rotocol Actions鈥 tab from the tiered column on the lefthand side of your screen or you can select the 鈥淧rotocol Actions鈥 tab that runs along the horizonal banner. The Protocol Actions subsection will allow you to start a new protocol or start an amendment to an existing protocol.
Start a New Protocol Application or Start Amendment
While on the 鈥淧rotocol Actions鈥 tab, you can begin a new submission using the first button 鈥 + Start a New IBC Application鈥 and then 鈥淪tart a new IBC protocol鈥 on the next page.
Options
The Choose Options section is a series of checkboxes and yes or no questions that may be applicable to your protocol. Your selections on this page will populate applicable sections of your protocol form. 鈥淪ave Changes鈥 to move to the next section. You can return to this section at any time to change your selections.
Table of Contents
Based on your selections on the Options page, your protocol form will populate sections that are specific to your proposed research activity. To the left of your screen, the relevant sections of the form are listed in the Table of Contents. You can click on individual sections to move through the form. Once the checkbox near the section title turns green, this means that you have responded to each of the required questions.
NOTE: Your protocol number will appear at the top of the page just above the Table of Contents.
TIP! To advance through the form, select 鈥淪ave Changes鈥. To preview the next sections without entering information, you can select 鈥淣ext Page鈥. You can also return to previous sections by clicking on the section title in the Table of Contents.
Submitting Protocols for Review
To submit your protocol for IBC review, press 鈥淪ubmit Protocol鈥
Tracking submission status
On your Hazard Safety Homepage, you can click on the tab Protocols in Review and view each submission that is currently moving through the review process. In the example below, you can see that the highlighted submission has been moved to the IBC Office for routing. You can return to this page to monitor the progress of your submission.
