• Keep left when entering Athens for US 50/32 East
• Take right exit for Rock Riffle Rd.
• Make a right turn at the stop sign
• Take a left onto Stimson Ave. at the first light
• Use traffic circle and take N. McKinley Ave/1804 Way
• Follow the signage on campus for specific areas

• Should anyone exit US 33 Eastbound onto SR 682 in The Plains, delays should be expected as they are installing a roundabout. This is Exit #191 which is earlier than Exit #198 that brings you in to main campus at the Richland Ave roundabout.
• At this time there is a project scheduled for the Stimson Ave bridge that will cause some delay to traffic entering via Stimson Ave. One lane of traffic will be maintained with a temporary traffic light.

• Those entering campus through the Stimson Avenue bridge will be unable to exit through the same route due to one-way configurations established during the current bridge construction efforts.  Instead of leaving through Stimson Avenue, please plan to exit campus through either the State Street or Richland Avenue exits.

• Take left exit #173A for Stimson Ave traffic circle
• Take the first exit on the traffic circle
• Go straight on Stimson Ave and then use the next traffic circle to take N. McKinley Ave/1804 Way
• Follow the signage on campus for specific areas

Meters in a variety of locations throughout campus will be designated as move-in unloading zones with a 30-minute maximum to accommodate those needing close access to the residence halls. Designated parking areas will be noted with signage.

Parking lots on campus are labeled by color on permanent signage. Extended parking can be found in any dark green or purple lot on campus that is not specifically marked as 30-minute unloading zone.

Parking is NOT permitted in fire lanes.

While parking on the grass is not normally permitted, a special exception will be made in certain areas to accommodate a large number of vehicles moving into residence halls. Please only utilize parking within the grass in approved locations as directed by an OHIO staff member.

(including metered parking) and private apartment complex parking enforcement are still in effect during move-in.

CATS is a free shuttle service for students and visitors traveling to multiple destinations throughout campus. Campus shuttles are available to help you get around once you鈥檙e on campus. Please note that some routes may operate on modified service hours during the move-in period.

Students can also use the Bobcat Pass (Athens Public Transit Partnership), which provides both campus and community fixed-route service. Your student ID card serves as an unlimited fare card for these routes.

For those needing additional accessibility support, Paratransit services are available through CATCAB, which offers limited and permanent mobility transportation.

CATS Schedule and Routes

CATS Late Night is a free on-demand transit service for students and visitors at night, providing a safe and secure method of travel across campus. Riders are encouraged to schedule rides in advance. Requests for on-demand service are also accepted. Wait times are dependent on demand.
