Biography

Dr. Gokkaya serves as the JPMorgan Chase & Co. Endowed Professor in Finance at 91原创, a distinguished academic chair recognizing excellence in research, teaching, and scholarly impact.
Dr. Gokkaya has published extensively in leading finance and business journals, including The Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Accounting and Economics, and Management Science, and has received several best paper awards for his research. His work has been regularly featured by leading media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Bloomberg Opinion, Financial Times, Morningstar, The Institutional Investor Magazine, American Association of Individual Investors, CFA Institute, CFA Digest, The CFO Magazine, the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance, and London School of Economics Business Review. His research has also been regularly circulated through the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI).
His research has been regularly presented at leading academic institutions, including Ivy League and other globally recognized universities, major finance conferences (e.g., American Finance Association , Western Finance Association , European Finance Association, ECGI Mergers and Acquisitions Research Centre Conference, Financial Intermediation Research Society), governance organizations, regulatory agencies, and financial institutions, including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (The SEC), the Federal Reserve in Washington, D.C., and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as well as prominent institutional asset management firms, bulge-bracket, middle-market, and boutique investment banks, and corporate M&A teams at leading technology firms.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. Professorship in Finance

Sinan Gokkaya was awarded the JPMorgan Chase & Co. Professorship in Finance, a renowned honor which supports his teaching and research work.

The JPMorgan Chase & Co. Professorship in Finance is awarded to faculty in the College of Business to teach graduate and undergraduate students in the area of financial services and provide scholarly leadership in this area for the benefit of the banking community throughout Ohio and the nation. The professor will also conduct relevant research on timely financial services issue and present and publish the results of this research for distribution to the banking community. They may consult with financial institutions on financial service and banking issues and provide leadership in corporate recruitment and placement of students into the banking industry and JPMorgan Chase & Co.
