Ping Institute Events

One of the goals of the Ping Institute is to provide opportunities for humanities teachers to get together to share teaching and research interests.

The institute also regularly sponsors two activities for high school humanities teachers throughout Ohio. In addition to financial support from the Ping Institute, the summer programs have received funding from the Ohio Humanities Council and the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation.

    One-Day Teacher Workshops


    Teachers throughout Ohio and the surrounding region are invited to participate in one-day Ping Institute workshops designed for high school humanities teachers.

    Three-Day Summer Institutes for Teachers


    The Ping Institute for the Teaching of the Humanities also sponsors an annual three-day Summer Institute for high school teachers.

    Humanities Cafe


    In 2026, the Ping Institute began a new initiative called 鈥淗umanities Cafe.鈥 These short public talks are given on interesting humanities topics.

    Faculty Seminars


    Once a year, a faculty seminar is held with a distinguished invited guest, featuring an afternoon symposium and dinner with humanities faculty members.
