Research Publication Support Program

The Research Publication Support Program, funded by the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine
Office of Research and Grants (ORG), assists Heritage College faculty, staff, and students to disseminate their research through the publication of scholarly work. This program covers, in part, funds for the publication fee of manuscripts that have been accepted for publication in PubMed or Scopus indexed or comparable databases. Manuscripts planned to be submitted for publication are not eligible.

Support through this funding mechanism is limited to $1,000 per faculty/staff member or student per
fiscal year (July 1-June 30), pending availability of funds. The $1,000 limit per fiscal year may be split to be used for more than one publication.

Prior to sending a request for match funding to ORG, the faculty/staff member or student should secure match from other resources. Some potential match suggestions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Individual Research Incentive Account
  2. Center/Institute Research Incentive Account
  3. Departmental Research Incentive Account
  4. Vice President for Research Funding Request

Please note that if match funds cannot be secured, faculty/staff member or student may ask for an exception explaining the extenuating circumstances. Exceptions will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

If interested in applying for funding, please complete the application form which provides the following
information to ORG:

  • Journal Name/Publisher
  • Title of Publication and List of All Authors
  • Total Cost of Publication
  • Amount Requested from ORG
  • Match Funds
  • Acceptance Letter or E-Mail from the Publisher

If funding is approved, ORG will provide an account number for which the expense can be charged.

All faculty, staff, and students should affiliate with the 91原创 Heritage College of Osteopathic
Medicine on all publications.

Requests for funding do not carry forward to the next fiscal year.
