CLJC Funded Internship Experiences

The Center for Law, Justice & Culture (CLJC) is committed to expanding access to high鈥憅uality, career鈥憇haping internship experiences for 91原创 students interested in law, justice, and public service. Recognizing that financial constraints and lack of prior experience can create barriers for students, the CLJC has partnered with alumni, community leaders, and legal organizations to build meaningful, mutually beneficial internship opportunities.

Through these partnerships, CLJC provides competitive stipends to students placed in select legal and public鈥慽nterest settings, with a particular focus on public service, rural legal needs, and access鈥憈o鈥慾ustice initiatives. These placements allow students to gain hands鈥憃n experience, develop professional skills, and contribute to important legal work.

Internship Locations

Students have completed funded internships with organizations such as:

  • Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio
  • ACLU of Ohio
  • Ohio Attorney General鈥檚 Office
  • Hamilton County Public Defender鈥檚 Office
  • Neighborhood Legal Services
  • Ohio Innocence Project
  • Athens County Court of Common Pleas, Probate/Juvenile Court
  • Guernsey County Prosecutor鈥檚 Office
  • 鈥nd other partner institutions committed to justice and public service.

These transformative experiences are made possible through the generous support of the Mary Stanley CLJC Public Service Internship Support Fund, the Social Justice Internship Support Fund (supported by OHIO alumna Leah Recht), and the Adele Morelli Fund for Legacy and Impact.

By reducing financial barriers and cultivating strong partnerships, the CLJC ensures that all students, regardless of background, can access meaningful, r茅sum茅鈥慴uilding opportunities that prepare them for law school, public service, and impactful careers in the legal field.
